By train, the ride from Grand Central to the Harrison station is about 45 minutes. While proximity to Manhattan alone is not the only factor that determines housing prices, Niche.com gives Harrison public schools an A+ grade, so those two things – relatively reasonable train ride and attractive public school options – mean that real estate prices in Harrison are considerable.

A quick search of available homes for sale in Harrison identify average prices north of $1,000,000 although there are homes below that amount located further south in town bordering Mamaroneck.

Whether Harrison is a good choice for you and your family will likely depend on your specific needs and those neighborhood characteristics you find most valuable, i.e., safety, schools, transportation, dining, entertainment, housing, etc.
